OUT LOUD
Our Philosophy at Growing Out Loud
×´Adults with disabilities deserve support that respects who they are, not who someone thinks they should be.×´
Growing Out Loud is for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who want support that feels respectful, engaging, and relevant to their everyday lives.

This support is a good fit for people who want more structure without being micromanaged, who benefit from encouragement and accountability, and who enjoy exploring interests, creativity, humor, and curiosity as part of their growth.

It works well for individuals who communicate in different ways, including nonverbal communication, and for those who do best with flexible pacing that adapts to energy levels, interests, and personal goals.

Sessions are designed to meet people where they are and grow from there, without pressure to perform or fit into a rigid mold.

Who is this for?
What does support look like?

Sessions are guided but flexible, offering enough structure to feel grounding while leaving room for exploration and choice.

Together, sessions may focus on building routines that fit naturally into daily life, strengthening confidence and self-advocacy, working toward personal goals, or exploring hobbies, interests, and creative outlets.

A variety of tools may be used depending on what supports engagement best, including conversation, visuals, movement, drawing, and hands-on activities. Sessions are adapted in real time to match communication style, focus level, and energy.

Some sessions feel focused and goal-driven. Others are more exploratory. Both are meaningful, and both support real progress over time.
About Growing Out Loud

Hello
Growing Out Loud is led by Tyler, a virtual educator and program professional with 10 years of experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Tyler’s approach blends structure, creativity, humor, and respect. Sessions are designed to feel adult, engaging, and human, not clinical or cookie-cutter.
Growing Out Loud was born from a simple truth: real growth happens when people feel seen, heard, and fully supported.

After years of leading virtual programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and neurodivergent individuals, I saw firsthand what works, and what doesn’t. I wanted to build something more intentional, more personal, and honestly… more human. Small groups, real conversations, and space for everyone to grow at their own pace, because no two journeys are the same.

Growing Out Loud is my response to a system that too often plays it safe. This isn’t about checking boxes or rushing through a curriculum. This is about meeting people where they are, listening without judgment, and offering coaching that’s rooted in trust, creativity, and community.

Here, we laugh. We challenge ourselves. We talk like real people. You lead your growth, I just help create the space, structure, and encouragement to make it happen.
Over time, my dream is to grow this into a full-blown movement, one that celebrates progress in every form and hires others who share this passion for heart-forward, high-quality support.

If you’re ready to grow in your own way, at your own pace, with people who truly care, welcome. Let’s grow out loud together.

My Approach
Practical
Growing Out Loud focuses on practical, everyday skills that actually show up in real life: communication, confidence, boundaries, independence, and decision-making. Sessions are structured, goal-driven, and grounded in what people need today, not abstract concepts or endless processing.
Intentional
This isn’t a program adapted after the fact. Everything is intentionally built for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the start. Clear language, predictable structure, visual supports, and pacing that respects different processing styles, without being childish or watered down.
Empowering
The goal is growth, not hand-holding. Sessions encourage self-advocacy, independence, and ownership over choices while still offering warmth, humor, and consistency. People leave feeling capable, heard, and more confident navigating their world.
